Financial Help for Doctors

Am I Eligible for NBMS Support?

Eligibility for Support

Financial support is valuable to junior doctors, foundation trainees, as well as senior and retired doctors, who are members of the society and are facing financial hardship due to illness, injury, bereavement, or unexpected life events. Applicants must be currently working, studying, or have recently trained within the UK, and must be able to demonstrate genuine financial need. Applications are considered on a confidential and individual basis, and all information provided is treated with the strictest confidence.

What support is available?

What We Provide

We offer financial grants to help cover essential living costs such as rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, and daily expenses. Support is also available for urgent childcare needs, emergency travel, or short-term disability. For doctors returning to practice after illness or injury, we can assist with retraining costs. In addition, we provide confidential advice on budgeting and debt management, as well as practical and emotional support during times of financial difficulty.

NBMS is proud of having provided financial support for Doctors, their dependants and Medical Students since 1786

NBMS Limitations

What We Don't Provide
